X Updates Policies To Officially Permit Adult Content

Elon Musk’s platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has updated its rules to formally permit adult and graphic content.
This policy change solidifies a practice already in place when the platform operated as Twitter before Musk’s acquisition in 2022.
In a recent website update, the San Francisco-based company stated that users “should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed. Sexual expression, whether visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression.”
While adult material was allowed under pre-Musk Twitter, there was no official policy. X has clarified that adult content will be restricted for children and for adult users who opt not to see it.
