Thrahim Muazzam, the Chairman of the Activist Coalition Group, issued a communique after a meeting in Kano, urging President Tinubu and the legislature to contemplate declaring a state of emergency in Zamfara State to combat the threat of banditry and impending disasters.

Responding swiftly to these appeals, Suleiman Bala, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, reminded the group that the responsibility for safeguarding lives and property rests with the federal government.

He particularly emphasized that, with the former governor of the state, Bello Matawale, now serving as the Minister of Defense, this duty has an even higher profile.

In an interview with our correspondent, Bala pointed out that during the four years of the Matawale administration, insecurity issues had escalated.

However, in the days following the new government’s inauguration, decisive measures were taken to address the problems.

It’s important to note that the Coalition justified their call for a State of Emergency by emphasizing that an effective security strategy requires capable leadership that is willing, prepared, and sincere in collaborating with the federal government and other stakeholders to tackle the problem.
