According to reports, a delegation allegedly representing certain federal government agencies has been engaging in talks with bandit groups in Zamfara without the knowledge or involvement of the state government.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal expressed his concern over the actions of federal government agencies negotiating with bandits independently and without consultation with the state government and local security agencies.

The statement further highlighted that Governor Lawal has urged the Federal Government to clarify the actions of these unnamed agencies, which appear to be in conflict with the state government’s adoption of a kinetic strategy to combat banditry.

In his statement, Governor Lawal emphasized the need for the Federal Government to investigate and address the activities of these elements that are seemingly undermining the ongoing efforts to combat banditry in Zamfara.

Reports have indicated that these federal government delegations have held discussions with various bandit groups in several locations across the state, including Birnin Magaji, Maradun, Mun haye, Ajah, Bawo, and Bagege.
