Oyo State Government Commits To Achieving 100% Literacy Rate

Professor Salihu Adelabu, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, made this declaration during a meeting with members of the Federal Project Coordinating Unit of the Global Partnership on Education – Transforming Education System (GPE-TESS) at the State level, held in his office at the Secretariat in Ibadan.

The commissioner revealed that the Ministry of Education was actively developing a comprehensive framework aimed at attaining Sustainable Development Goal Four (SDG4).

He emphasized that this framework would not only promote quality education but also create opportunities for lifelong learning for all residents of the state.

Additionally, Professor Adelabu highlighted the state government’s alignment with a World Bank program designed to reduce the number of out-of-school children. The government is committed to fostering an enabling environment within public schools to improve educational access and quality.

Dr. Folake Olatunj-David, the National Project Coordinator, who was represented by Project Manager Hammed Nasir, explained that the purpose of their visit was to monitor the joint sector review conducted by the Federal Project Coordinating Unit of the Global Partnership on Education – Transforming Education System (GPE-TESS). He commended the Oyo State government and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for their notable achievements in the education sector.
