Sulaiman Bala Idris, the spokesperson for Governor Lawal, conveyed in a statement that the governor, during his assessment of the damages caused by the fire, pledged assistance to those affected by the unfortunate event.
Addressing the victims at Gusau Central Market, Governor Lawal expressed his condolences to the market leadership and the family of the deceased. He highlighted the proactive measures already in place, mentioning the formation of a committee to investigate ways the government could enhance and develop markets across the state. The governor emphasized his commitment to supporting the fire incident victims and assured them that various avenues would be explored to alleviate their losses.
Abdulrahman Tumbido, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, revealed that the government promptly deployed an emergency response to control and extinguish the fire.
The chairman of the Gusau Central Market, speaking on behalf of the victims, expressed gratitude to the Zamfara State Government for its swift response to the unfortunate incident.
