The NDLEA has raised substantial concerns about the challenges it faces in combating drug abuse within the state.

Governor Lawal, in response to the agency’s concerns, reiterated his commitment to collaborating with the NDLEA to create a drug-free environment throughout all the state’s local government areas.

He acknowledged the need to combat drug abuse and its link to ongoing insecurity within the state, as many bandits are influenced by drugs.

The governor also pledged to revamp the Gusau rehabilitation center, provide suitable accommodations and offices for the NDLEA, and furnish the agency’s officers with operational vehicles to enhance their effectiveness.

During a courtesy visit to the Government House in Gusau, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Bamidele Amos Segun, conveyed the agency’s role in curtailing drug abuse and smuggling within the state.

He expressed his commitment to supporting the state government in reducing drug abuse to the minimum, underlining the progress witnessed during Governor Lawal’s leadership.
