In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Otse alleged that ₦180 million had been transferred to an unknown account, leaving only ₦20 million behind.
However, his account has sparked skepticism, with many questioning its plausibility.
Dr J, tweeting as #truebenny001, questioned, “Was the money in the website or the bank?”
Basito (#Itzbasito) commented sarcastically, “VeryDarkMan said ₦180m is missing from the ₦200m donation for his NGO. See scope o, like say we be primary school students.”
Mas Dinero (#Mas_Dinero_) expressed disbelief, writing, “₦180 million don vanish just like that? Hackers or no hackers, who dey run this NGO? This story no clear o. Money wey no be your own dey waka anyhow? Call EFCC; this matter don pass ordinary.”
Another user, Mikay (#stephen_mikay), pointed out, “Banks have transaction limits. ₦180m cannot leave an account without verbal confirmation from signatories!”
Adding humor, #BRILLIANT_ARIN remarked, “If it were someone else, they’d have worn a singlet, carried sachet water, and pressed record. This method no dey surprise me again!”
Meanwhile, some users emphasized the importance of cybersecurity. Vincent The Therapist (#mrhighfoster) stated, “This shows why cybersecurity is critical in Nigeria. Managing public accounts with large donations requires robust security. It’s a skill everyone should learn for the future.”
As the debate continues, questions remain over the alleged hacking incident and the measures taken to secure the funds.
