2.Thirteen ex-Boko Haram fighters, who had surrendered and been integrated into military operations in Borno State, have fled with weapons and motorcycles provided by the government. They were part of the larger group of former fighters and their families who had previously surrendered.

3.The Court of Appeal in Enugu upheld a tribunal decision removing Hon. Simon Atigwe, the representative for Igboeze North/Udenu federal constituency. The court ruled that Atigwe, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was not validly elected based on votes cast in the rerun election.

8.An Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti sentenced three individuals to death by hanging for armed robbery. Alexander Solomon, Desmond Peter, and Eric Tile were found guilty, while a fourth defendant, Promise Shie, was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

9.Senator Mohammed Ndume, former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, stated that Nigeria’s military is inadequately equipped to defeat Boko Haram or banditry. He also denied social media rumors that his convoy had been ambushed by Boko Haram terrorists.

10.The Naira depreciated further yesterday, reaching N1,625.13 per dollar in the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM). Data from FMDQ showed that the exchange rate rose from N1,561.76 per dollar the previous day, reflecting a N63.37 drop in the Naira’s value.
