200 Students In Osun Receive Funding For Educational Support

The grants were facilitated by the Ileri-Oluwa Education Support Scheme, led by Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine Operations in the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Of the 200 beneficiaries, thirty who scored above 200 in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) were awarded N100,000 each to support their admission process. The remaining students, who scored 160 and above, received consolation grants to aid their admissions.

During the grant distribution event held at the Ileri-Oluwa Building in Osogbo, Badmus explained that the scheme is designed to assist hardworking but financially constrained students in achieving their educational goals. He emphasized that this initiative is his way of giving back to the community that has supported him.

“For this round, we provided over 200 students with free JAMB forms. Among them, the thirty students who scored above 200 received N100,000 each. Others also received grants to support their admission process. This effort aims to motivate and support young people who have the potential but lack the means to pursue their dreams,” Badmus said.
