2027 Presidency: Tinubu Unveils Full APC Presidential Campaign Council
President Bola Tinubu has unveiled the list of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election.
The list was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Under the new structure, Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as chairman and vice chairman of the campaign council, respectively. Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been appointed Director-General, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary.
APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman have been named deputy secretary and assistant secretary, respectively. The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as a vice chairman of the council.
Tinubu will be supported by an advisory team comprising former Osun State Governor Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
The President directed members of the council to work toward securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 election. He also urged directorate leaders to bring on board other party members who may not have been included in the official list but are willing to contribute to the campaign.
Tinubu said the administration had fulfilled its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on the path to economic recovery, urging the campaign team to highlight the government’s achievements and present its record to voters.
The statement further revealed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as deputy directors-general overseeing the southern and northern regions. They will work alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole was appointed deputy director-general in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration in the same capacity.
James Abiodun Faleke, who was instrumental in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, will return as deputy director-general for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
Faleke will work with zonal directors including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North East.
The election planning directorate will also have Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori as secretaries.
Muiz Adeyemi Banire has been appointed director of the legal directorate, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as deputies. Other members of the legal team include Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
For media and strategic communication, Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris Malagi will serve as coordinating director, working alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka have been appointed coordinating deputy directors in the media directorate.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor will serve as coordinating secretaries, while Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media, a position he held during the 2022 campaign. Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary of New Media.
The campaign council has also named five spokespersons, with Dele Alake as the lead spokesperson. He will be supported by Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
