Primate Ayodele highlighted that corruption among politicians would prevent the N8,000 palliatives from making a significant impact on the intended recipients. He deemed the initiative a futile endeavor, claiming that it would fail to fulfill its purpose due to pervasive corrupt practices.
“The N8,000 palliative is corruption; it will not benefit the poor masses.
Despite the President’s endorsement, it will have no real impact.
The governors will exploit it for their personal gains, and the impoverished citizens will not benefit from it at all,” the Primate declared.
In terms of an alternative approach, he recommended a significant increase in the minimum wage to N100,000, emphasizing that such a measure would directly benefit the people and have a tangible impact on their lives.
