The state capital, Minna, witnessed the presentation of this concerning data to journalists by the FRSC commander in the state, Kumar Tsukwam.
According to Tsukwam, the fatalities resulted from 766 road traffic crashes, involving approximately 5,272 individuals, with 2,607 sustaining various degrees of injuries. Among the road accidents recorded, 204 were classified as fatal, 483 as serious, and 79 as minor….CONTINUE READING
The state commander highlighted the various causes of these accidents, which included human, vehicular, and environmental factors.
He emphasized that human factors were the primary reason for many accidents, stressing that adherence to traffic rules and regulations by drivers is crucial to preventing such tragedies.
Tsukwam emphasized that the FRSC focuses its sensitization efforts on drivers, as their actions significantly impact road safety.
To mitigate the alarming number of road crashes, the FRSC is diligently working to minimize the risks on the state’s roads.
They conduct regular checks at motor parks to engage with commercial drivers and assess the roadworthiness of their vehicles.
Tsukwam passionately appealed to motorists to respect traffic rules and regulations at all times while using the roads to prevent accidents and safeguard their lives and those of other road users.
