During the period from January 2011 to December 2014, more than 2.4 million barrels of Nigerian crude oil were illegally exported and sold to buyers in the USA, resulting in an estimated revenue loss of US$533,272,233 (equivalent to N104,521,357,668 at an exchange rate of N196 to US$1).
With the Nigerian government’s previous efforts to hold the accountable oil companies thwarted by corruption, Nigerians in America have taken the initiative to launch a Class Action Lawsuit, seeking to hold USA Oil companies responsible for their involvement in the theft of Nigerian Crude Oil.
