Brig Gen Ahmed also cautioned Corps members against sharing camp activities on social media, noting that three members were recently expelled for violating this rule.
These remarks were made during his address to 2762 Corps members of Batch B, Stream one at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Saturday.
Ahmed commended the Corps members for their enrollment in the orientation camp, emphasizing the academic privilege it represents compared to their peers who did not achieve the status of Corps members.
He stated, “Let me also remind you of the camp rules: you are not allowed to post camp activities online or on social media. Three of your colleagues elsewhere were found breaking this rule by posting camp activities on social media, and they have been expelled.”
“And regarding your allowance, don’t worry. As soon as the ongoing negotiation on the minimum wage is concluded, your allowance will definitely be increased. The government values you and will not overlook your needs.”
The DG expressed his satisfaction with the military skills demonstrated by the parade guard during his visit, encouraging the youth to consider a career in the military.
