The Borno State Police Command has apprehended a 40-year-old woman from Kautikari village in Chibok LGA for fatally attacking her husband with an axe. ASP Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the command, disclosed that Lydia Aji allegedly struck her husband during a dispute over their daughter, Rachael Aji, 13, who had stolen and sold a goat. Daso added that investigations revealed ongoing marital discord, exacerbated by the daughter’s actions. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Kwaya-Kusar LGA, police arrested Usakahyel Adamu, 24, for allegedly killing his 90-year-old grandfather with a hoe during an altercation.

Both cases are under investigation, and the suspects will face legal proceedings upon completion of police inquiries. Additionally, the police reported the apprehension of three individuals in possession of narcotics, and a syndicate of five suspects involved in vandalizing public infrastructure such as solar street lights and borehole components. Three more suspects were arrested for criminal intimidation, accused of threatening a man with death unless he paid them N2 million.
