Robbers Steal Man’s Two IPhones And Laptop, Disagree Over Taking His Tracked Car
A Nigerian man identified as @Reubenofenugu on X, formerly Twitter, has recounted a frightening robbery incident at his apartment in 2024, sparking reactions across social media.
The man revealed that the robbers invaded his apartment and made away with two of his iPhones and a laptop during the incident.
According to Bush Radio Academy, one of the robbers also attempted to take his car key, but another member of the gang reportedly objected, insisting that they had already taken enough valuables from him.
Recounting the encounter, the X user explained that one of the robbers considered the stolen phones and laptop sufficient to cause him significant financial loss and discouraged his accomplice from taking the vehicle.
He further suggested that the outcome could have been different if the robbers had driven away with his car, explaining that the vehicle was fitted with a tracking device that could have helped him trace them.
In his account, he wrote: “Another stopped him and said, ‘We’ve taken enough.’ I would have arrested them if they took the car because my car has a tracker.”
The story has attracted reactions from social media users, with several people commenting on the unusual disagreement between the robbers and the possibility that the car tracker could have helped identify them.
A user identified as Semi Gold described the robber who opposed taking the car as smart, suggesting that stealing the vehicle could have increased the chances of the gang being caught.
Another user, Big Sam, remarked that people could recover from even difficult experiences, while Eni described the robber’s decision as an example of an armed robber showing a surprising sense of restraint.
Godswill, however, jokingly questioned which phone the man was using to share the story online.
