According to Lawal, the husband, identified as Aji Makinta, succumbed immediately to the blow during the altercation. Lawal stated, “On July 4th, 2024, Bulama Mulikabu of Kautikari village, Chibok Local Government Area, reported at Chibok police station that Lydia Aji, aged 40, struck her husband, Aji Makinta, on the head with an axe during a violent altercation, resulting in his immediate death.”

Further investigation revealed that the conflict escalated after Aji accused his family of the theft and subsequently ordered them to vacate his residence.
