The Police Command accused the Shiite group of launching an “unprovoked attack” on officers at Wuse Junction, using stones, machetes, homemade explosives, and knives. Abdullahi Musa, who led the procession on Sunday, stated that police fired on unarmed IMN members during what he described as a peaceful religious procession. Musa alleged that undercover police officers were responsible for the deaths of their colleagues to shift blame onto the IMN.

He clarified that the procession, which began on Saturday, was organized to show solidarity with Shiite members worldwide commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Husain (AS), a figure known for his stand against injustice and oppression. Musa added that the IMN had informed both the public and the FCT Police Command about the procession beforehand.
