Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of optimism amid the current economic challenges facing the nation. He reminded citizens that tough times are temporary and that resilience and determination are essential for overcoming difficulties.

He acknowledged the prevailing hunger and despair caused by rising living costs and inflation, noting, “There are not enough words to describe the pain and suffering many people are experiencing due to ongoing fiscal and economic reforms. However, I want to assure you that these challenges, too, shall pass. Every problem has an expiry date.”

Urging Deltans and all residents to remain steadfast, he stated, “The situation we are in requires creativity, innovation, patience, and resilience from both leaders and citizens. These qualities will help us navigate this turbulent economy.”

Governor Oborevwori also stressed the importance of prayer, saying, “We should never cease praying for Nigeria, regardless of our circumstances. God’s will is for us to pray, and we must complement our prayers with positive speech. If we speak negatively about our country, we nullify our prayers.”

He encouraged everyone to focus on praying for the nation’s peace, unity, and development, asserting that “decision determines destiny.” By speaking positively about Nigeria, he believes that citizens will be pleasantly surprised by the outcomes.

In his sermon, Rt. Rev’d Kingsley Obuh, Bishop of Asaba, spoke on the theme “In all things, give thanks.” He acknowledged the difficulties faced by Nigerians but encouraged them to maintain an attitude of gratitude, affirming that giving thanks is the will of God for everyone.
