The appointment comes ahead of the national rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Uzodinma will also serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.

Under the new assignment, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodinma will work closely with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and fellow governors to champion and promote the Tinubu administration’s policies nationwide.

The statement noted that as Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodinma—who also heads the Progressive Governors Forum—will be responsible for fostering harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all tiers of the party, while leading efforts to mobilise and engage citizens. APC governors across the country will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope.

President Tinubu charged Uzodinma and other ambassadors to amplify and communicate the administration’s achievements and progress since 2023, reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope across Nigeria.

In his message to Uzodinma, the President emphasized the need to ensure that Nigerians are well-informed about the government’s accomplishments. The statement highlighted key gains recorded since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, including sustained decline in inflation—now at 16.05% after seven consecutive months—stabilisation of the exchange rate, and a rise in foreign reserves to over $46 billion from the $32 billion and a net reserve of $4 billion inherited in 2023.

The administration also cited renewed investor confidence, with increased foreign direct and portfolio investments, a booming stock market, and accelerated economic diversification driven by solid minerals. Additionally, the educational loan scheme has enrolled more than 700,000 students, while passport processing times have been reduced to under one week.
