The incident quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering a wave of reactions. Social media users were quick to express their surprise and disappointment at Obi’s seemingly inattentive behaviour during such a crucial and significant event.

Many questioned why a presidential candidate would allow himself to doze off, especially when his followers had previously criticized Tinubu for similar incidents, claiming they were signs of poor health.

On the other hand, critics seized the opportunity to highlight the irony of Obi’s followers previously mocking Tinubu claiming that it indicated a lack of fitness for office. They argued that if they were quick to criticize Tinubu, then it was fair to scrutinize Obi’s brief moment of rest.
