The lawmaker representing Benue North-East Senatorial District, Emmanuel Memga Udende, has revealed that suspected thugs attacked his convoy and disrupted a church service he attended last Sunday at the House of Solution Church of All Nations (HOSCOAN) in Kpe Aya, Tsua Community, Mbagbera, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued by his media aide, Jerry Orgem Iorngaem, the senator explained that before the service ended, the thugs stormed the area and vandalised canopies and plastic chairs used for the gathering.

Udende further alleged that the attackers, whom he described as politically sponsored thugs, arrived at the church premises in about five buses while chanting political songs.

Reacting to the incident, the Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Area, Dennis Terkura Guda, blamed the senator for the security disturbance recorded in Vandeikya Township during the church service.

In a statement, Guda criticised Udende for allegedly failing to formally inform him, as the Chief Security Officer of the local government, or seek security clearance from the relevant security agencies before visiting the area.

According to the chairman, such an action does not align with the established protocols guiding visits by prominent political figures.

“A public figure of Senator Udende’s status is expected to officially notify the local government authorities, security agencies, and even party leadership before undertaking such a visit, especially since we belong to the same political party,” Guda said.

He added that the circumstances surrounding the visit have raised concerns about the intentions behind it.
