Iyabo Obasanjo Storms Tinubu, Reveals Details Of Private Meeting

In a statement released on Tuesday, Obasanjo said she used the meeting to discuss her ambition to contest for governor and to share her plans and vision for the state.

She explained that her agenda would focus on key areas such as governance, development, and improved public service delivery if elected.

Obasanjo also spoke about her long-standing relationship with President Tinubu, describing it as one built on years of political engagement and mutual respect, which she said has influenced her political journey and leadership style.

She noted that their discussion was insightful and centered on leadership, governance, and national as well as state development.

During the meeting, the former commissioner also reaffirmed her support for the ruling party and pledged to mobilise backing for President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.

Speaking on her ambition to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun in 2027, she said her experience in politics gives her a strong understanding of the challenges and aspirations of the people.

She emphasised that effective governance requires experience and a deep connection with the people, adding that Ogun State needs leadership focused on transforming key sectors of the economy.

Obasanjo pledged that, if elected, she would prioritise education, healthcare, and job creation, particularly for young people.

She concluded by expressing her commitment to improving living standards across Ogun State and ensuring balanced development in all areas of the state.
