Speaking on the Sunday edition of Politics Today on Channels Television, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka alleged that Atiku and other opposition actors contributed to destabilising the ADC and mishandled the fallout from the crisis.
He criticised the opposition for blaming the ruling party for problems within the ADC, insisting they should take responsibility for their internal disputes.
According to Morka, the party’s legal troubles began after a suit was filed by an aggrieved ADC member who felt sidelined by what he described as newcomers attempting to take control of the party.
He accused the opposition figures of taking over the ADC in a manner that alienated existing members and led to the current legal and leadership challenges.
Morka argued that the APC should not be blamed for what he called the opposition’s own legal and political missteps, questioning why senior political figures have refused to accept responsibility for the crisis.
His remarks come amid rising tensions within opposition ranks following the Ibadan political summit, where prominent leaders resolved to work towards presenting a single presidential candidate in the next general election.
The gathering was seen as part of broader coalition efforts aimed at challenging the APC and resisting what participants described as a drift toward a one-party system.
However, the ruling party has dismissed that narrative, maintaining that the opposition must first resolve its internal divisions — especially the lingering leadership and legal disputes within the ADC — before it can mount a credible challenge in future elections.
