The fight will mark Joshua’s first appearance since surviving a tragic car crash in Nigeria last December that left him injured and reportedly claimed the lives of two members of his team. His last outing was earlier that month against Jake Paul.

Joshua confirmed he has signed a multi-fight agreement ahead of his return, describing the upcoming bout as the next chapter in his comeback.

He said he had taken time away to recover, regroup and prepare for a return to top-level competition, adding that he is eager to resume where he left off.

The British-Nigerian boxer also repeated his trademark declaration that “the landlord will collect his rent,” signaling confidence ahead of the showdown.

The announcement has also intensified speculation over a long-anticipated clash with Tyson Fury, especially after Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalsheikh hinted on social media that a deal involving both fighters had been signed.

Fury recently returned to action with a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he used his post-fight remarks to publicly challenge Joshua.

Calling for the fight fans have long demanded, Fury urged Joshua to accept a showdown, setting off another round of verbal exchanges between the two rivals.

Joshua fired back, accusing Fury of chasing attention, while insisting he has always been open to fighting him and remains ready when the time comes.

He maintained that he has pursued the matchup for years and suggested Fury bring forward his terms whenever he is serious.

A blockbuster bout between the two heavyweight rivals is now being tipped for later this year, provided Joshua comes through his July return unscathed.
