Former federal lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, Senator Ishaku Abbo, has officially left the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Sunday, Abbo announced that he has joined the Labour Party Nigeria alongside his supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leader of the SIA Movement attributed his decision to the ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC at both national and state levels, noting that conflicting court judgments over the party’s structure had created uncertainty for members.
He cited a Federal High Court ruling that nullified state congresses and a Supreme Court decision that referred the matter back to the lower court, saying these developments had left the party in a state of instability.
Abbo stated that his move to the Labour Party was necessary to enable him and his supporters to pursue their political ambitions in 2027.
He also appealed for understanding and forgiveness from friends and associates who may be displeased with his decision.
“I ask everyone who is unhappy with my decision to forgive me. I have great respect for my friends in the ADC. I am not leaving out of hatred, but to continue my political journey and pursue the aspirations of many who believe in me,” he said.
He further expressed appreciation to his supporters, describing himself as a representative of the hopes of many people.
Abbo also claimed to have forgiven those he believed wronged him during his time in the ADC, while stating that he would not forget past experiences.
He added that he would later announce his preferred presidential candidate in collaboration with the Labour Party as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
