The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, on Friday held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, where both men discussed national issues and the direction of Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The meeting was described as a reunion between two long-time associates who have shared years of collaboration in public service. During Jonathan’s tenure as Vice President and later as Acting President and President, Hayatu-Deen served in key roles, including membership of the National Council on Privatisation and chairmanship of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), as well as participation in the Presidential Advisory Committee.

According to a statement from the Mohammed Hayatu-Deen Media Office, the ADC aspirant used the visit to formally inform Jonathan of his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the ADC platform.

The statement noted that both men reflected on their past working relationship, with Jonathan reportedly commending Hayatu-Deen’s interest in the presidential race and wishing him well.

The former President was also praised for his continued influence across Africa, particularly his advocacy for democracy and credible elections.

Hayatu-Deen, who brings over 40 years of experience in both public and private sectors, outlined his vision for Nigeria, saying that if elected, he would focus on job creation, economic restructuring, insecurity reduction, lowering the cost of living, and expanding employment opportunities for Nigerians.
