APC Primary Buzz: Tinubu And First Lady Make Surprise Appearance At Voting Venue

The couple cast their votes at Ward E in Ikoyi, Lagos State, during the party’s presidential primary exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Their arrival at the venue was greeted by a large crowd of party supporters and APC members, while the President’s campaign anthem, “On Your Mandate,” played in the background.

A video from the event captured the atmosphere at the polling venue.

The APC primary election is taking place nationwide today, Saturday, May 23, 2026, as party members vote to select the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

The exercise is being conducted across 8,809 wards in the country, with about 14 million registered party members expected to participate.

Earlier, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda stated that the party’s membership strength was approaching 14 million.

According to him, more than 13 million Nigerians have registered with the party, with nearly half of the membership made up of young people between the ages of 18 and 35, making the APC one of the country’s most youth-driven political parties.

The ruling party currently has President Tinubu and Osifo Stanley as the two aspirants seeking its presidential ticket for the 2027 election.
