VIDEO: Tinubu Sparks Reactions As He Calls Wike “Landlord
President Bola Tinubu has playfully referred to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as “landlord” during a public exchange at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The moment occurred on Sunday when both men greeted each other as Tinubu arrived in the capital from Lagos, alongside other top government officials who were at the airport to receive him.
In a video from the scene, President Tinubu could be heard jokingly addressing the former Rivers State governor with the remark, “Landlord, you are back?”
Wike had reportedly been in Port Harcourt, where he was involved in political activities ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Rivers State.
Meanwhile, reactions have continued over political developments in Rivers State following the emergence of Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
International media personality Donu Kogbara criticised Wike’s alleged backing of Chinda, describing the move as politically insensitive.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme, she argued that Rivers State has had several governors from the Ikwerre ethnic group and questioned the push for another candidate from the same group at this time.
She noted that while Chinda is widely regarded as competent, the broader political context should have been considered before his emergence as a candidate.
