Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has taken an early lead in the ongoing presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Results from Bolewa and Potiskum wards in Yobe State showed Atiku defeating former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

According to figures announced by the returning officer, Atiku secured 740 votes, while Amaechi polled 15 votes and Hayatu-Deen received 2 votes.

The ADC presidential primary is currently ongoing across 8,809 wards nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku, Amaechi, and Hayatu-Deen are among the major contenders vying for the party’s presidential ticket.

Amaechi cast his vote at Ubima Ward in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, while Hayatu-Deen voted in Jare, Borno State. Atiku, on his part, voted at Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State.

In a post on , the former Vice President described the exercise as a demonstration of democracy in action and commended the conduct of the primary.

“Atiku said, ‘I joined other prospective voters of the African Democratic Congress in our party’s presidential primaries in casting my vote at the Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta Yola, Adamawa State. This is democracy at work.

‘The election taking place simultaneously in 8,809 Wards in Nigeria is a major step in our quest to recover our beloved country and set it on the path of prosperity,’” he added.
