Yusuf said the progress and stability of the state should take priority over individual interests.

He made the remarks on Friday during the annual Hawan Nassarawa, stressing that his administration is focused on building a united, peaceful, and progressive Kano.

The governor called on Kwankwaso to join hands with his government in the interest of development and harmony across the state.

He said, “I urge him to think about Kano rather than personal interests and join the movement for peace and a new Kano that will ensure stability and progress.

“During a recent programme, I observed that everyone was present except Kwankwaso. Even leaders who had political differences elsewhere were able to reconcile.”

Yusuf also praised the Emir of Kano for his counsel, while noting that he remains unafraid of anyone, adding that his humility should not be mistaken for weakness.

He said his administration inherited a state facing significant challenges and has since introduced reforms aimed at correcting past issues without fostering conflict.

On security and cultural matters, Yusuf said his government has worked to reduce violence in the state, noting that certain traditional celebrations were adjusted in the interest of peace.

He assured the Emir that he would continue to occupy the throne and expressed optimism about the future return of a more vibrant Durbar celebration that would attract global attention.

The governor further stated that most of his advisers are performing effectively, but warned that a small fraction may be undermining the administration’s efforts.

According to him, about 85 per cent of his team is working well, while 15 per cent are allegedly causing internal problems.

He cautioned those involved, saying the government is monitoring the situation and would take appropriate action where necessary.
