In a personally signed statement, the President commended security personnel for their unwavering dedication to protecting lives and maintaining national security despite the challenges associated with their duties.
Tinubu praised frontline troops and security operatives for serving as a protective barrier between law-abiding citizens and those seeking to undermine the peace, safety, and stability of communities nationwide.
He acknowledged the difficult conditions under which they operate, including in forests, remote terrains, waterways, highways, and military bases, noting that their efforts enable millions of Nigerians to go about their daily activities in relative safety.
The President recognized the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), intelligence agencies, local security outfits, and other personnel involved in safeguarding the nation.
He also paid tribute to the families of security operatives, noting that they often endure prolonged separations, uncertainty, and emotional strain as a result of their loved ones’ service to the nation.
Tinubu further honoured security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing them as heroes whose sacrifices continue to contribute to the protection of communities and the preservation of national unity.
The President stressed that the fight against terrorism and insecurity is not solely the responsibility of security agencies but requires the support and cooperation of all Nigerians. He urged citizens to assist security operatives by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent criminal activities.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity, Tinubu declared that Nigeria would not bow to fear or allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and violent extremists to define the nation’s identity.
According to him, the actions of criminal elements do not represent the values of Nigerians regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background.
He concluded by thanking all security personnel for their courage, vigilance, and service to the country while praying for their safety as they continue to protect the nation.
