He made this remark on Monday at the Lagos State Investment Summit, where he emphasized that governance cannot be driven by sentiment or the desire to please everyone.

According to him, leaders are expected to prioritise national interest over personal emotions when taking critical policy decisions.

Shettima also commended Lagos State, describing it as Nigeria’s economic gateway and a key driver of growth for the wider West African region.

“If you want to be a nice man, you can go and sell ice cream, but leadership requires you to take very harsh decisions,” he said.
