UPDATE: Governor Otti Steps In With ₦25 Million For Ailing Actress Ngozi Nwosu’s Treatment

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has fulfilled his pledge to support veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu by paying ₦25 million directly to the hospital where she is receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

The development comes days after the 62-year-old actress appealed to the public for financial assistance, saying she needed ₦30 million to undergo three urgent surgeries and could no longer cope with the rising cost of her medical care.

In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page, Nwosu appealed to fans, colleagues and well-wishers for support as she battled her health challenges.

Following the appeal, Governor Otti approved financial assistance to help fund the actress’s treatment.

Providing an update on Thursday, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Justice Okey Martins, popularly known as JMartins, announced via his X account that the payment had been made directly to the hospital.

According to Martins, the governor authorised the transfer before the close of business on July 30, ensuring that the funds were paid into the hospital’s account where the veteran actress is currently receiving medical care.

He praised Otti for honouring his commitment and expressed appreciation for what he described as the governor’s compassion and support for one of Nollywood’s respected veterans.

The payment covers a significant portion of the ₦30 million required for Nwosu’s planned surgeries as she continues her treatment.
