₦69.15m Scandal: Doctor Accuses Blessing CEO Of Falsely Claiming Property Ownership

Published

A chiropractor, Dr Onuoha Okeigwe, has accused social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, of allegedly obtaining ₦69.15 million from him after claiming ownership of a property in a case before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.

Okeigwe made the allegation while testifying as the first prosecution witness in the ongoing trial on Monday. He was being cross-examined by defence counsel before Justice Rahman Oshodi.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the witness told the court that he paid the money after Blessing CEO allegedly convinced him, through WhatsApp conversations and face-to-face meetings, that she owned the property.

Okeigwe alleged that the influencer misrepresented herself as the rightful owner and continued communicating with him after the payment had been made.

During cross-examination, the chiropractor acknowledged that he was not a legal practitioner and could not fully interpret the legal language contained in the transaction documents. However, he maintained that he had presented evidence to support his allegation that the defendant falsely represented her ownership of the property.

He also disputed the defence counsel’s suggestion that Exhibit C was the only document he had submitted, insisting that he provided additional materials, including records from the Corporate Affairs Commission. He further maintained that the alleged representation of ownership extended beyond their WhatsApp exchanges.

The witness disclosed that he had instituted a separate civil suit against the influencer to recover more than ₦100 million allegedly spent renovating the property for a medical facility he intended to establish there.

He explained that the criminal case concerns the ₦69.15 million allegedly paid for the property, while the separate civil action seeks reimbursement for the renovation expenses and additional damages.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9, 2026, on two counts bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing, involving ₦69,150,000.

The social media personality pleaded not guilty to the charges. The allegations remain before the court, and the ongoing proceedings have not established her guilt.

Justice Rahman Oshodi subsequently adjourned the case until January 12, 2027, to allow the prosecution to call additional witnesses as the trial continues.
