Zlatan Reveals How He Met Wife Davita In London Before Their Lavish Traditional Wedding
Nigerian singer and rapper Omoniyi Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan, has shared the story of how he met his wife, Davita Lamai, revealing that their relationship began during his first visit to London as he worked towards establishing his music career.
The Zanku Records founder made the revelation while speaking on his YouTube channel, where he described Davita as a major source of support during the early stages of his journey in the entertainment industry.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Zlatan recalled arriving in London with limited knowledge of the city and its banking system. During the trip, he connected with someone interested in discussing music and working with Davita, which eventually brought the pair together.
The singer said he approached Davita, requested her phone number and expressed interest in meeting her again. However, she reportedly told him that she needed to consult the person she had accompanied before making a decision.
Zlatan explained that their connection developed naturally, adding that Davita began helping him with transportation using her car and assisting him with exchanging money while he was in London.
He described her as his support system, stressing that her assistance during that period contributed to the bond they developed.
The musician also reflected on his early years, saying his attention was largely focused on building his future and meeting his basic needs rather than pursuing romantic relationships. He described his journey with Davita as part of a series of life experiences that seemed to unfold according to a larger plan.
Zlatan attributed several turning points in his life to divine intervention, recalling how he won a car at the age of 19 despite not expecting such an outcome and eventually pursued music, even though it had not initially been his intended path.
He said these experiences reinforced his belief that events in his life had worked out in unexpected ways, including his meeting with Davita.
The couple, who have two sons, Shiloh and Benaiah, celebrated their traditional wedding on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Oniru, Lagos State.
The ceremony attracted several personalities from the entertainment industry and beyond, including Davido, Kwam 1, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Teni, Soso Soberekon, Abu Abel, Seyi Vodi, Small Doctor, Bella Shmurda and 9ice.
Their traditional wedding marks another milestone in a relationship that Zlatan says began during a formative period of his career, when Davita offered him practical support as he navigated unfamiliar surroundings and pursued his ambitions in music.
