He Built That House With His Savings – Woman Begs Toluwanisings Widow Over Burial Plans
A Nigerian woman has appealed to Itoha, the widow of late gospel singer Toluwanisings, to consider her father-in-law’s wishes amid a reported disagreement over where the singer should be buried.
The woman made the appeal in a Facebook post following reports of a dispute between the singer’s father and his wife over the proposed burial arrangements.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman argued that Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, invested considerable time, effort and personal savings in building a house intended to provide comfort for his wife and children, but died before he could fully enjoy the property.
Addressing the widow directly, she urged her to consider the significance of the house to her late husband and allow his father’s wishes to be considered in deciding the burial location.
She also encouraged the family to approach the disagreement with understanding, invoking Yoruba cultural values and calling for dialogue between the parties involved.
The appeal comes amid reports that the singer’s father wants his son buried in the house he built, while the widow has reportedly objected to the arrangement, expressing concerns about living in a home where her husband would be buried.
According to the reports, the father suggested that if the family could not agree on burying the singer in the house, his remains could instead be taken to their village and laid to rest beside his late mother.
The disagreement has attracted reactions on social media, with discussions centring on the wishes of the deceased’s father, the widow’s concerns and the importance of reaching a mutually acceptable decision during a difficult period of mourning.
Toluwanisings reportedly died on October 14, 2026. The ongoing debate over his burial arrangements has highlighted the emotional and cultural sensitivities that can arise when family members disagree over how to lay a loved one to rest.
As reactions continue, the reported appeal adds another voice to the discussion, with the woman urging the family to consider the late singer’s efforts in building his home and resolve the matter through dialogue and mutual understanding.
