Give Tinubu More Time – Ex-Minister Defends Economic Reforms Ahead Of 2027

Former Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, urging Nigerians to give the administration another four years to consolidate its economic reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sambo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Taraba State, acknowledged the rising cost of living and the economic difficulties confronting citizens but maintained that the government’s policies required more time to deliver lasting stability and prosperity.

The former minister made the remarks while speaking with journalists at his country home in Jalingo, where he called on Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Sambo, who served as the Taraba State Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 elections, argued that the sacrifices currently being experienced by Nigerians could eventually contribute to economic recovery if the reforms were allowed to continue.

He cautioned against abandoning the policies midway, insisting that the administration needed sufficient time to consolidate its efforts and achieve sustainable economic growth.

According to him, the combination of ongoing reforms and increased investment in infrastructure projects could produce long-term benefits for the country.

Sambo also urged APC leaders and supporters of the Tinubu administration to improve public communication about government policies, stressing that Nigerians needed clearer explanations of the objectives of the reforms and how they were expected to improve living conditions.

He maintained that government supporters should communicate the policies in simple language that ordinary citizens could easily understand, rather than relying on technical explanations.

The former minister further expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in the 2027 general elections, predicting that the ruling party would record significant victories across the country as the benefits of the administration’s economic policies and infrastructure investments become more evident.

His endorsement adds to the growing political support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
