Chaos In Uyo As Bus Carrying Women To Welcome Tinubu Collides With Security Vehicle

Several women travelling to welcome President Bola Tinubu to Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday sustained injuries after the bus conveying them collided with a security Hilux van along Oron Road in Uyo.

The women were reportedly travelling in an Akwa Ibom Transport Corporation bus to Victor Attah International Airport to participate in activities marking the President’s visit when the accident occurred.

The incident disrupted the welcoming celebrations, leaving several female supporters injured.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the collision and disclosed that a rescue team had been deployed to the scene to assist those affected.

The FRSC spokesperson, Paul James, however, explained that the command had yet to establish the exact number of casualties or determine the circumstances that led to the crash.

Further details regarding the victims’ conditions and the cause of the accident are expected as authorities continue to assess the situation.
