In Zamfara State, the air component obliterated at least 16 terrorists in enclaves believed to belong to Dankarami, who is notorious for collaborating with other kingpins to carry out violent attacks on communities.

The airstrikes were conducted based on credible intelligence about Dankarami’s whereabouts and his involvement in various violent activities in the region.

The operation targeted eight motorcycles carrying terrorists and herds of cattle heading towards a hidden camp in the bushes, resulting in the destruction of all the motorcycles and the decimation of at least 16 terrorists.

In a separate operation, the Nigerian Air Force also launched an air interdiction at Ado Aliero’s enclave near Asola Mountains in Tsafe local government of Katsina State.

Aliero, another terrorist kingpin, and his foot soldiers were targeted due to their involvement in recent abductions and cattle rustling in communities within Tsafe and Faskari local government areas.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesperson, confirmed that the increase in airstrikes, particularly in the North West, was in line with the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.

The directive instructed Air Component Commanders to collaborate with sister services and other security agencies to combat terrorists and other criminal elements, aiming to secure the entire Northern region.
