Reacting to these claims, Ekeoma issued a statement on Saturday, attributing the misinformation to politicians in opposition parties who allegedly sponsored the falsehood.

Ekeoma clarified that Governor Otti duly resigned from the APC at his ward in accordance with constitutional provisions before joining the Labour Party.

He emphasized that Otti’s resignation letter was received and acknowledged by the then ward Chairman, who was recognized at all levels as the Ward Chairman.

Furthermore, Ekeoma accused the APC witness who testified against Governor Otti of being an impostor, engaged in doing dirty jobs against the governor.

He identified the witness presented by Chief Ikechi Emenike, the defeated APC Governorship candidate, as an individual falsely claiming to be the APC Chairman of Ward 5 in Isialangwa South LGA.

Governor Otti reassured the people of Abia that the mandate given to him remains safe and secure, and he remains committed to serving the people with passion and sincerity. He criticized the attempts to steal the people’s mandate through disinformation and mischief.

In the ongoing Abia State governorship election petition tribunal, two witnesses, Friday Ugorji and Alozie Macsolomon, testified against Governor Otti, alleging that he did not resign from the APC before joining the LP.

However, Ekeoma’s response refutes these claims, asserting that the proper procedures were followed before Otti left the APC.
