In Skales’ own words, “I want to share a story that I still find unbelievable, you know. I have never talked about this before, but this will be my first time. So I have this brother from Tanzania, who is one of the biggest artists in East Africa, and even in Africa. His name is Harmonize.
“He was working on his album and he came to Nigeria. I remember taking him to Naira Marley’s house. Everything was positive and full of good vibes.
He did a song with Naira Marley, and he reached out to me, saying that he wanted me to contribute a verse to the song. So, I did it and sent it to him.
He liked it and all that. Then, after a few weeks, he called me and asked, ‘Do you have any issues with Naira Marley?’ I was like, ‘Issues? We were all hanging out together. What’s going on?’
“He told me, ‘Naira Marley just called me and told me to remove your verse from the song, claiming he wasn’t aware that I would be the featured artist.’ I responded by saying, ‘Okay, no problem, bro. If it will help you, take my part off the song.'”
