Taking to his social media platforms, Adeyanju stated, “Tinubu should be too sophisticated for all these nepotism & tribalism. His kinsmen advising him to behave like Buhari by appointing only Yorubas into every sensitive agency of Govt are damaging the Nigeria brand. I am so disappointed and disgusted.”

Adeyanju’s comments followed the recent announcement of new executive appointments in the NNPC. The newly nominated figures included Oritsemeyiwa A. Eyesan as Executive Vice President of Upstream, Olalekan Ogunleye as Executive Vice President of Gas, Power, and New Energy, and Adedapo A. Segun as Executive Vice President of Downstream. Notably, all three individuals hail from the Yoruba tribe.

Adeyanju further challenged Tinubu’s advisors and inner circle for perpetuating a narrative of tribalism that he believes is detrimental to the nation’s progress. His remarks echo the sentiments of several other Nigerians who have criticized the president for seemingly favoring individuals from his ethnic group for significant roles in his administration.
