The legislator, who represents the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, affirmed that the 10th House of Representatives is committed to adhering to established rules and regulations and will ensure fairness for all parties involved.

It’s worth noting that the House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption issued a summons dated October 11, 2023, to summon the Managing Director of REA, Mr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, regarding an alleged multi-billion-naira fraud that allegedly took place during his tenure.

This summons was a response to a petition from the Civil Society Group, the Center Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV), which made various allegations against the management team under Ahmad’s leadership, including an alleged N1.5 billion fraud in the electricity agency.

In response to the situation, the Managing Director appeared before the investigative committee led by Hon. Kayode Moshood Akiolu to address allegations of fraud, criminal conspiracy, and misappropriation of public funds involving him and around 15 other individuals.

Contrary to certain perceptions about the House of Representatives, Deputy Spokesperson Agbese emphasized that the Green Chamber is intended to serve all Nigerians.

He stressed the importance of affording the accused individuals a fair hearing, conducting thorough due diligence in the hearings, and forming a balanced and just opinion and judgment.
