Committees on Reformatory Institutions, Interior, and Police Affairs were mandated to collaborate with relevant security agencies to compile a comprehensive report on the escaped inmates.

The House set a six-week deadline for the committees to report back for further legislative action. The motion, sponsored by Emmanuel Ukpong–Udo, highlighted the Kuje Custodial Centre jailbreak in July 2022, attributed to the Islamic State in West African Province, resulting in the escape of 879 inmates, including 64 Boko Haram suspects.

The House expressed concern about the security risk posed by the unrecovered escapees, emphasizing the need for measures to track and apprehend them.
