The viral video captures Peter Obi overseeing the demolition of homes in Anambra, where he justified the actions by stating to reporters from Channels TV, “We have to remove all structures from the road as long as we are reconstructing the road. That’s why we are even leaving most of the structures on the express. Once we start the work, the structures must go without compensation.”

This revelation supports the ideology behind Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu’s demolition initiative, emphasizing that it is not motivated by tribalism. The ongoing demolitions are attributed to houses built without adhering to due procedures, obstructing the state’s masterplan, and contributing to erosion issues.
