Speaking at the committee’s inaugural meeting in Abuja on Thursday, Akinlade expressed concern about the recurring incidents of air crashes in the country and assured that the committee, in collaboration with stakeholders like the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and regulatory authorities, would organize a high-tech town hall meeting to investigate the causes of these crashes. The committee aims to address safety abnormalities at airports and ensure the safety of Nigeria’s airspace.
