Addressing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members undergoing orientation, Aremu-Cole emphasized the gravity of losing a young life to a preventable automobile accident during national service. He encouraged them to resist any temptations or pressures that might lead them to embark on unnecessary night journeys.

The NYSC director also urged corps members to accept their postings with a positive mindset, emphasizing that their service to the nation aims to make a meaningful impact in their host communities. He advised them to focus on the positive contributions they can make through the Community Development Service (CDS).

Expressing his passion for community development, youth empowerment, and human capital development, Aremu-Cole assured the corps members of his willingness to assist them in achieving national goals. He welcomed them to approach him freely for any needed support.

Prior to Aremu-Cole’s address, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, the state coordinator of NYSC Kwara, stressed the importance of adhering to the director’s instructions. Olaoluwa highlighted the director’s track record of mentoring many youths and close associates to achieve their goals.
