Addressing the participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 16 graduation ceremony in Abuja, Bichi emphasized the agency’s commitment to self-reliance in manufacturing defense assets. He disclosed that once these plans materialize, the DSS intends to deploy these domestically produced weapons throughout the country.

Bichi expressed the agency’s support for training programs and emphasized the importance of research and development. He stated, “Sooner or later, we shall start eating what we produce. And we produce what we eat. This is coded. It means we shall start deploying some of the assets we have or the platforms we produce by ourselves, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. We are producing our AK-47.”

The Director-General highlighted the potential cost savings and national benefits associated with this initiative, intending to alleviate the financial strain on the country caused by purchasing weapons from abroad.

Additionally, Bichi reassured other security agencies of the DSS’ dedication to providing credible intelligence support. He acknowledged the collaboration with the military and police in the fight against terrorism and insurgency, vowing to sustain these efforts.

While urging residents of Plateau and Kaduna to redirect hostilities towards job creation, Bichi called for a return to the peaceful and prosperous era of the 1970s when Plateau was known as a tourist-friendly state. He urged residents to learn from examples where communities turned hostilities into opportunities for development, emphasizing the need for dialogue and focus on the collective progress of the region.

Finally, Bichi encouraged Nigerians to refrain from disparaging their leaders, emphasizing the democratic nature of the nation and the potential for achieving positive change through patience and constructive dialogue.
