Social media user Brian Jonah Dennis, based in the state, posted images of the partially demolished building on Facebook, pointing fingers at former Governor Wike for neglecting the State Assembly chambers in favor of extravagant flyovers. Governor Fubara, committed to comprehensive infrastructural transformation, vows to erect a new State Assembly chamber befitting the stature of the lawmakers.
The demolition coincides with a factional sitting led by Speaker Edison Ehie, a staunch supporter of Governor Fubara, and lawmakers aligned with the governor.
